Lynward and I have a system for restocking the pantry that has become especially important in these days of social distancing when the Coronavirus has us wanting to get in and out of Kroger as quickly as we can. Basically, I’m in charge of the grocery shopping and Lynward is our wine buyer (I trust him—he knows what I like).
Of course, as the COVID-19 situation has grown more serious, and grocery shopping has become steadily more intimidating, we’ve progressed to picking up wine using Order Online, or having it delivered to the house. Either way, Kroger remains a great option, with an excellent selection—especially for those of us who want to buy quality wines without spending wine collector prices.
Here are our Top 11 Kroger wines under $30 wines to help you get through so, so, so much time at home. These are our go-to selections when shopping at Kroger and, as you can see, we tend to prefer full-bodied, food-friendly Cabernet Sauvignons, which happens to be almost universally pleasing to American wine drinkers. That is our way of saying, “go on and try it, we bet you’ll like it.”

The Kroger Wine Club is an online wine subscription service that will ship a case of wine curated by esteemed vintners from around the world straight to your door every 12 weeks. Cases start at 4 bottles and go up to 12 bottles. You can save $15 on cases of 6 and 12 bottles with the code SPRING15.
